kibbutz gezer

Sorry, we don't yet have anything written about Kibbutz Gezer :(

Hi all, I'm working really hard on this website to make it into the #1 resource for Kibbutz Information.

As you can see, I haven't yet managed to write an article about Kibbutz Gezer, but I hope to do so really soon!

If you can help me out with an article about Kibbutz Gezer or anything else to do with Volunteering on a Kibbutz, please get in touch and I'll update this page :)

Also if you ever were a volunteer on a Kibbutz, I'd love to be able to use this site to share your experiences!

  1. Your Comment I am an Irish Nurse. I worked as a volunteer on Kibbutz Gezer in the mid 90s. It is in Central Israel conveniently situated, halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, though well off the beaten track. It is very popular with young Jewish Americn Volunteers and some European and Scandinavian mainly Swedish. The volunteer accommodation was very basic and crowded when I was there. There was a strong line drawn between the kibbutzniks and the volunteers though being a professional and the oldest of our group I managed to break down some barriers and make friends with some of the 'natives'! The work then was mainly dairy farming and cotton picking which in hot weather is hardgoing as you are outside all the time and exposed to the hot sunshine - there is a large swimming pool! Overall I enjoyed my 3 months on Gezer as it was a realistic intro to life in Israel and it opened the way for me to work as a nurse in the Land and so extend my stay for a further 2 years. 2. Your Comment- There is no sign of Kibbutz Baram on ur list. It is situated 2miles from the border with Lebanon, at the foot of the Golan Heights. The only access I have for it is via wikipedia.com then follow link to website which also has a very informative link to the website of a former NZ volunteer with accompanying fotos. Well worth a browse! Claire/clairemariemoooney@hotmail.com
