kibbutz tzuba

Kibbutz Tzuba is built on the site of the biblical town of the same name. The town is mentioned in the bible (Samuel 23:36).

It is 8 miles (about 12 km) west of Jerusalem, near the main TelAviv-Jerusalem road. You can get a bus from the main Jerusalem bus station, bus 183.

The kibbutz was founded just after the WW2 and it accepted refugees at first. After a while it accepts `Nahal`...

More recently, lots of new members from western countries have arrived.

The population is about 500, and half of these are volunteers.

Industries include factorys making car windscreens and windows. A furniture factory also.

As usual, agriculture is very important and includes orchards, cotton, dairy, poultry.
