Life on a Kibbutz

Living in a kibbutz is not all about work, volunteers have fun as well. To fully appreciate the kibbutz, participants are encouraged to join the social functions and activities (from Jewish Holy days to weddings and parties) held within the community. Volunteers can relax in local kibbutz pubs or watch films in kibbutz cinemas. For sport-oriented individuals, they can use the gym or play in the sport facilities (tennis, basketball, football) found in the area.

After the programme, some volunteers who become convinced of the benefits of this lifestyle can actually stay and be part of the kibbutz. To do this, they simply have to apply for membership. Should they decide to revert back to their former life, they can easily pull out of the kibbutz as well.

To date, more than 100,000 volunteers (Israel natives and foreigners alike) have experienced Kibbutz life in Israel. Those interested to be part of a kibbutz may contact their local travel agency or contact the kibbutz movement nearest their neighbourhood.
