Volunteering Introduction

Israel has a long and turbulent history. From the biblical period to modern times, this small country, roughly the same size as New Jersey, has always been marked with conflict and controversy. However, did you know that a peaceful and utopian way of life exists in modern day Israel? This way of life is not practiced by everyone in Israel but only those who live in Kibbutzim. In a kibbutz everything is shared, and everyone treats each other as equals.

Another thing that makes a kibbutz unique is that they allow outsiders get a glimpse of the life inside their society: they encourage everybody who is interested to experience their lifestyle, to practice communal living and this is done through various volunteer programs. Kibbutz Volunteer programs are offered all year round and are fantastic ways for Israelis and foreigners alike to, not only live in a kibbutz, but also see another side of Israel, the side very few people see and appreciate.
